Fantastic villas with pizza ovens

Today is National Pizza Day, and what better way to celebrate (other than ordering a takeaway pizza) than featuring six of our fabulous villas with pizza ovens. One of our favourites is in Crete, with a wine cellar too, while another is a new villa in Corfu; unsurprisingly the others can all be found in the birthplace of pizza. 

Villa Iris

It might surprise you that the first villa on our list isn’t located in Italy, but Crete! Besides the fact that it has two infinity pools, other excitements at Villa Iris include a lush sunbathing lawn, a children’s play area and a beautiful outdoor kitchen with a built-in bbq and that all important pizza oven for al fresco pizza parties; pair with a bottle of wine from the villa’s well-stocked private wine cellar. 

And if you are feeling guilty for overindulging, you can burn off some calories  in the gym the following morning.

Casetta Compito

Ideally located in the heart of Tuscany's hills, Casetta Compito is a small villa with huge, open views. Close to both Lucca and Pisa, it is ideal for families or a romantic retreat.

Try your hand at creating your own leisurely lunches using the villa’s pizza oven or built-in barbecue, both tucked away between the olive trees. The lawned terrace, backed by shrubs, is the perfect spot to enjoy a spot of al fresco lunch and enjoy the panoramas.

Trulli dei Pini

While the villa itself is cool and comfortable, it’s all about al fresco living at Trulli dei Pini in Puglia. An impressive 14m long pool is solar heated and takes pride of place on the terrace, while foodies are bound to love the outdoor kitchen featuring its own hob, sink and al fresco food preparation area. 

A shaded dining terrace is served by a BBQ and a wood-burning pizza oven for all day pizza party fun for friends and families alike, while a separate building in the garden contains an additional kitchen with a fridge and a dishwasher. 

While Trulli dei Pini feels perfectly private, shops and restaurants in charming Cisternino are within walking distance just 1.5km away.

Masseria Ferrantino

Beautiful inside and out, Masseria Ferrantino is a fantastic family-friendly villa in Puglia. Nestled within private olive groves, guests will feel as though they are tucked away in their own little piece of paradise, yet shops, relaxed restaurants and a lovely local bakery are all just a short drive away in Carpignano.

The villa’s roof terrace is the ideal spot to watch the sunset with an aperol spritz, while the covered dining terrace beside the pool is a fantastic spot to enjoy your homemade pizza. As well as a pizza oven the al fresco kitchen also includes a built-in barbecue, a food preparation area and a kitchen garden. 

End a relaxing day watching a film in the villa’s outdoor cinema.

Apraos Beach House

A brand new villa on Corfu’s showstopping north-east coast, aptly named Apraos Beach House enjoys direct access to the beautiful sandy beach below. 

The outdoor living areas at this ABOVE property are rather exceptional. In addition to the huge 350m2 pool, there’s also a children’s pool, table football, table tennis, pool table and a private tennis court. 

The spacious terrace has not one but two separate bbq areas and a magnificent professional outdoor kitchen. In peak summer months cook service is included for 6 days a week, so why not ask the cook to arrange a pizza party for you and your guests one afternoon or evening? Last but by no means least, Villa Aequana overlooks the beautiful bay of Naples, where pizza was first invented! Where better to enjoy your own wood burning pizza oven? Better yet, the Villa Manager can arrange pizza parties upon request, as well as a number of experiences from tours of Pompeii to boat trips around breathtaking Capri.

Dine al fresco out on the terrace or inside the villa where the dining table is perfectly positioned  overlooking Mount Vesuvius.
