In the north, Reduit beach is one of the best and most popular beaches on the island, where a mile long stretch of golden sand meets warm calm waters. From here you can take a water taxi across the bay to picturesque Pigeon Island; there are two lovely beaches within the national park on the southern side of the island, that are perfect for swimming and snorkelling, or simply sit back and enjoy the superb scenery. Further south Anse Chastanet Beach is truly stunning, with shimmering black sand and is voted one of the best on the island; make sure to try snorkelling here to see the beautiful brightly coloured coral reef teaming with fish. Nature and Adventure in St Lucia 

There is an adventurous side to this island beauty and away from the beaches, the island is mountainous, covered in tropical rainforest, and crowned by the twin peaks of the Pitons. These volcanic plugs are St. Lucia’s most famous landmark and rise to around 786 metres. From your villa, head inland to venture through lush rainforest hills and trails, where intrepid travellers can journey through the treetops on a zip line, while others can hike to see waterfalls and cool off in natural pools. St Lucia is an advocate for eco-tourism, where activities such as hiking and mountain biking are encouraged by way of discovering the island's impressive interiors. The ocean surrounding St. Lucia boasts coral gardens, volcanic pinnacles, and shipwrecks, while marine reserves protect the habitat of tropical fish, turtles and migrating whales; as well as diving and snorkelling trips, fishing charters and whale watching excursions head out into the deep waters for day trips. 

Eating and drinking in St. Lucia

A feast of Caribbean and Creole influences with an added French flair, the island’s cuisine reflects its history and inhabitants. On your St Lucia holiday expect to see salted cod and pouile dudon—a chicken stew made with coconut and molasses— on most menus. Seafood also plays a major role in the island’s cuisine, with highlights including accra, fried fish patties, and conch, while rum and the light local beer, Piton, are the favoured drinks.

Rodney Bay in the north of the island is a hub of excitement, especially at the weekends. A lively party scene sees many bars and clubs for dancing the night away, while a weekly Gros Islet street party offers the opportunity to party with the locals and enjoy amazing street food. There are many quieter bars and restaurants away from the crowds, plus the marina has a wide range of traditional and international dining options such as pizza and sushi, to enjoy while overlooking the beautiful bay.
