FINE FACILITIES

Already seduced by the serenity of the estate, some guests wish to just revel in the charming grounds whilst wandering through orchards, basking in the sun or swimming in the glorious infinity pool; carved from the shell of an ancient limestone quarry. Others may wish to branch out and practice some yoga. The recently opened wellness centre is also on hand for anyone looking to enjoy a dry sauna, steam bath or private treatment whilst on their stay.

During the summer, specially trained staff take care of young children with half day or day long programs which include diversions such as outdoor painting, dye-making with flowers and spices, and sculpting from raw materials. For toddlers they offer have a small, shaded area with assorted playthings, as well as children’s lunches and dinners. Older children enjoy the freedom of the gardens and woodlands which provide plenty of room to explore. The stables and horseback lessons are also a popular option.

For teenagers, reluctant to accompany their parents on yet another cultural outing, Borgo Pignano offers an all-weather tennis court which can quickly be transformed into a five-a-side soccer pitch, as well as a half-basketball court and paddle-ball court. Teenagers also often enjoy taking one of our gravel or mountain bikes for spins around the estate or venturing out on long horseback rides.

When to go to Borgo Pignano

Tuscany is a region with a mild and sunny climate, so you can plan a villa holiday here for almost any time of the year. Temperatures drop in the winter (especially at night), but this is also a great time for a villa holiday if you fancy adding in a day or two skiing in the Apennine Mountains. Peak time in Tuscany pairs with the European school holidays – and it’s also the hottest time of year here too, with summer temperatures that can rocket into the early 30s. You’ll find the most pleasant weather in the summer’s bookend months – May, June, September and October are still warm and sunny, and crowds and prices will noticeably drop for the better.
