Royal Westmoreland offers a variety of family villas on Barbados’s west coast, well equipped, attractively priced and royally entertained with myriad facilities.

Accommodation

Perhaps best known as an excellent golf resort, Royal Westmoreland is actually much more. One of the most exclusive residential developments in the Caribbean, its 750 acres of rolling countryside encompass a broad range of accommodation in a private setting, and a plethora of recreational facilities which make it very attractive to non-golfers too. CV Villas features a range of three, four and six bedroom houses, all in contemporary local style, constructed with coral stone and pickled pine, and tastefully furnished for comfort. Cook service can be arranged in all the villas, and each has a private pool, open-plan living/dining room, and air-conditioned bedrooms with en suite bath or shower room.

Facilities

Royal Westmoreland, with its 18 hole golf course, is perfect for a golfing holiday. Guests enjoy concessionary green fees, and free use of the putting green, driving range and Club House facilities. If golf isn’t your thing there’s still plenty to do here. The white sand beach is just a five minute drive away, and a shuttle bus service runs here regularly. If you prefer to laze around the pool than lay on the sand, guests are able to use the communal swimming pools, and if you like to stay active on holiday then the Sanctuary complex has a swimming pool and a well-equipped gym and there are also tennis courts and coaching available.

Eating and drinking

The Clubhouse is the perfect spot for breakfast during winter season, or lunch or post-golf drink with a view all year round, with a setting looking out over the golf course to the sea in the distance, while the Sanctuary Café serves up drinks and light bites also during winter season. Halfway House offers another choice for breakfast or lunch all year round, while the Rum Shak is the place to be for dinner or evening drinks. All villas have excellent self-catering facilities, but for real indulgence, why not hire a private chef to do the cooking for you.

Local area

If you can bear to leave the beach or your private pool, then vibrant, laidback Holetown is just a five minute drive away where you can find shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre for duty-free purchases. A tour of a rum distillery is also a must when in Barbados – famous name brands are produced here. There are plenty of water sports to choose from on the beaches, with some excellent snorkeling and diving spots.
