Using locally sourced wood and wicker, rock and cork in the hotel’s buildings and furnishings, its décor and colour palette reflect the serenity of its natural surroundings, while creating a chic contemporary look, supported by superb resort facilities. Facilities

Martinhal Beach Resort is a luxury 5 star resort with facilities to match. A very family-friendly resort, children are well-catered for here, with a kids’ pool and shallow entry beach-style pool, and a crèche and kids’ clubs catering for children from six months to 16 years. There is also an outside playground and an indoor games room. There are five swimming pools for all guests to enjoy, including an indoor/outdoor pool perfect for cooler days. While the little ones are busy making friends in the kids’ club, the pampering Finisterra Spa is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a treatment of your choice. For those who love to stay active on holiday, there is a fitness room, football pitch, tennis courts, padel tennis, mountain bikes for hire and a wide range of water sports on offer.

Eating and drinking

Whether you choose to cook in the privacy of your villa, or treat yourself in one of the resort restaurants, there are plenty of options here. Located at the resort’s centre, the Mercado Deli & Bake offers a wide variety of take-away breakfast options with freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries, coffees, teas and natural orange juice as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, high quality deli items and a wide range of drinks. A full range of cold take-away dishes are also available through the day. O Terraço offers a delicious daily buffet breakfast as well as gourmet evening dining, while As Dunas specialises in fish and seafood Portuguese style, and Os Gambozinos has a mouth-watering Italian menu. M Bar is a comfortable spot for a light lunch, coffee and cake or evening cocktail, while the Beach Club Pool Bar offers poolside service.

Local Area

Sagres village is a fifteen minute walk from the hotel along the beach, here there is a selection of restaurants, shops and bars. There are also some good beach restaurants along the way. There are several golf courses within easy reach of the resort, while horse riding and pony trekking can also be arranged. There is excellent hiking and climbing to be found in the area, and you can also try your hand at para-sailing and eco-sailing (go-carting with a sail). Lagos, with its picturesque old town and modern marina, is just 32km away
