Destination Expert & Professional Development Officer
Stephen Manley-Clarke
Corfu has been my home for 4 years, although I have lived in Greece for 10 years, previously in the South Peloponnese. It was the late 70’s when I became a travel agent upon leaving school, until I started a life in the air as cabin crew traveling the planet! Due to the diversity of this industry, I also found myself working in many holiday destinations helping people create the best experiences during their well-earned holidays; along the way I developed skills within the training & development arena too! Fast forward to present day, I can bundle all this experience and knowledge together! Here I am on hand, whether you are regular or a first-time visitor to Corfu, to ensure the best holiday experience awaits you; I also support my overseas colleagues in their own personal development journey and collectively we help make CV Villas the company you continue to choose and love to travel with.
Describe the perfect day in your destination?
Corfu has something for everyone and every age. If you hire a car, we have unspoilt villages to explore steeped in history, my favourites being Old Perithia and Doukades; as you walk through these, enjoy the smells of local dishes being prepared with freshly picked herbs; you can try out some incredible local dishes (and local wine!) in the various traditional tavernas where you can take in the incredible views or simply people watch. I know you will experience the ambience of local Corfiot hospitality which will help you create fantastic memories to treasure forever.
What are your top travel tips for your destination?
Definitely hire a self-driving motor boat, or if you prefer, arrange a private boat with a skipper to explore the wonderful northeast coastline of Corfu. Take a water taxi to Corfu Town where the old town meets the new. You can walk through the lanes of the old town with its Venetian architecture, enjoy a Frappe in the Liston, meander around the quirky shops, or visit the Old Fortress. For a family day out, we have Aqualand Water Park! The Durrells made their home here in Corfu, and it is possible to see the White House in Kalami and even take a visit to Danilia village, a replica of the 1930's film set used for the TV series.
What local cuisine would you recommend to people staying in your destination?
Look out for Shrimp Saganaki, Baked Feta with honey and sesame seeds! Our local dish in Corfu is Sofrito!
What experiences would you recommend to our customers in your destination?
Get chatting to our locals in the resort, they'll always have a story to tell and you will soon become life long friends! Our regular guests of many years can confirm this!
