Operations Assistant
Lydia Ninou
I have been at CV Villas for 4 years now, having worked in different departments of the hospitality and international tourism industry over the years. I am an Operations Administrator for CV, which embraces my leadership and communication skills, and my level of customer service expertise. This position is very challenging and demanding, however there's a joy to knowing you're creating a unique experience for a customer, and looking after them is so rewarding. For me, making sure that all their needs and expectations are met is the best accomplishment at the end of the day.
Describe the perfect day in your destination?
The perfect day would start with me waking up to a breathtaking sea view - accompanied by a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit and pastries. I'd get ready for a trip with a skipper on a private boat, and would explore the coast and all those hidden paradise beaches that are not able to be seen from shore. Stopping for a swim and a snorkel, lunch would follow back on board the boat, completed with a chilled glass of local fruity wine. When reaching the villa in the afternoon, I'd have a quick dip in the pool and a siesta, in order to unwind and get ready for a lovely outing in the evening.
What are your top travel tips for your destination?
Research the destination you are visiting so you know what to expect, and prepare yourself to relax and go with the local flow. Greek mentality is much slower and relaxed compared to the fast life of the UK. Roads aren't as good here, and not all products can be bought in the local markets. I would definetely recommend pre-ordering your supermarket shop so it can be delivered to the villa before you arrive. A transfer from the airport in a private taxi is also recommended - it's a stress-free approach to the start of your holiday and gives you time to explore the village and area on foot before a rental car can be delivered the next day.
What local cuisine would you recommend to people staying in your destination?
Greek cuisine is one of my favourites. Mezes are an excellent way to try small portions of lots of different local recipes - some of which are particularly rich in flavour and texture. Crunchy filo pastry pockets filled with feta cheese drizzled with local honey and toasted sesame is a must. You should also try sofrito, pastitsada and bourdeto. Don't miss out on the amazing fresh seafood that's caught daily - you can often choose the way you would prefer to have it cooked for you.
What experiences would you recommend to our customers in your destination?
Experiences on the idyllic blue waters of the Ionian Sea are not to be missed! Rent a private boat or join a relaxed daily boat trip with a skipper and a cook - enjoy local cuisine onboard while exploring the beautiful coastline. An adventure jeep safari exploring the most picturesque villages in the destination is a great idea, visiting traditional tavernas and enjoying the wildlife and greenery.
