Day 1: Fly overnight to Colombo.

Day 2: On arrival, you will travel straight to the cultural triangle, an area known for its rich cultural history but also for its array of native wildlife. Spend two nights at one of our recommended hotels, either Vil Uyana or Water Garden Sigirya, both of which have their own mini eco systems and wildlife and can arrange evening nature walk tours.

Day 3: After a leisurely morning, take the short drive to the Minneryia National Park to see the herds of elephants which roam the park freely and enjoy the shrublands and vegetation without set boundaries.

Day 4: After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll take a private transfer to Gal Oya Eco Lodge, where you’ll be based for two nights. The Lodge is set amid 8 hectares of private forests on the edge of the national park and offers a range of exceptional experiences including culinary glasses, guided walks and bird watching.

Day 5: After breakfast explore the Gal Oya National Park on a memorable boat safari. The park is perhaps the most remote and untouched of Sri Lanka’s national parks and is teeming with over 4,000 elephants who are known to bathe and swim in the waters between the parks many uninhabited islands. Elephants are not the only attraction here as the park is also home to leopards, langurs, water buffalo and legions of native and migratory bird species.

Day 6: In the morning travel to Yala National Park which serves at perhaps the greatest chance to spot the elusive Leopard in its natural habitat. Spend two nights in one of our
recommended properties either Leopard Trails Yala or Cinnamon Wild Yala.

Day 7: On day 7 take both morning and afternoon safaris to explore the parks many hectares in search of leopards, elephants, sloth bears marsh crocodiles and a great variety of birdlife.

Days 8-13: Choose one of our spectacular Beach Villas such as Villa Moonstone or Water Lily. Your private transfer can take you to your villa via the Kalamatayia and Bundala bird Sanctuaries where you can see a plethora of interesting bird life. Enjoy a range of our excursions, such as whale watching at Mirissa or visit a turtle hatchery. 

Day 14: Take a private transfer back to the airport to catch your return flight.
